*Superman themetune*

Hey guyssss, ya'll remember me? *tumbleweed flows onto stage*

So I haven't abandoned you guys - I was away in Turkey for two weeks and my Blogspot malfunctioned, resulting in a lack of posts and love and stuff. Sorry. Buuuut I'm coming back with a bang!

Yesterday, a guy called Steve came into my class and it was THE BEST LECTURE I'VE EVER HAD. Guys, you don't understand how interesting it was: all about subconsciousness and how to change your life and activate more than 15% of your brain and just ugh, it was so immensely awesome.

Soooo, I've decided to make a few changes around this town *cracks stirrups*, starting with you! Or, The Blog Hermit, to be precise. You guys don't need to change, YOU ARE PERFECT THE WAY YOU ARE. (Yesterday was super inspirational guys ^_^ )

I am going to get more involved with Twitter
Follow bloggers, RT fellow blogger's posts, find new blogs, be surrounded by constant blog talk.... Follow me at @amyannewilliams and I'll love you for ever and ever.

I'm going to change my blog design
Although Eve did a wonderful job, I did a bit of research and combined a load of blog elements that I love to come up with a template.

If we ignore the quality, this is the sort of thing that I'd like to have as a constant theme. Any suggestions for designers/ improvements?

I'm going to qualitify my photos
Basically, what this means is simply that I'm going to use interesting, bright, 100% in focus photos on my blog, uploading from Jayze on a regular basis, although I admit that this will be a little hard until I get my new Macbook (squeee!!). I'm also going to take a good photo of myself to add onto this blog, however hard it may be.

I'm going to co-direct a blog e-event with someone
I'm not saying much for now, but if anyone's interested in a blog collab thing, let me know. (I HAVE SUCH A GOOD IDEA!!!) I hope you guys love it - if anyone wants to blindly get involved, comment below!

So yeah, things are hopefully going to get a bit better over here. I'm going to buy some more business cards, read more blogs, comment more on said blogs, and just involve you guys a lot more. It may take a few months to get things the way I'd like, but once we reach 2015 The Blog Hermit should be up and running. Wahayyyy!!

^I need to get a proper signoff *sighs*

The Liebster Blog Award (#6)

RULES:

- Post eleven facts about yourself.
- Answer the eleven questions provided by the person who nominated you and then create an eleven question set for the next group of nominees.
- Choose eleven people to nominate and link them in the post.
- Let your nominees know they've been tagged - and no tag-backs (I'm looking at you Emily!)

My eleven facts:
As this is my sixth time receiving this award, you guys already know a lot about me. 55 facts from this award alone, to be precise. So, here's a little summary of what I'm up to currently.
(1) I am currently in my house because (2) yesterday I went to The Big City with FKG and (3) tomorrow I am going away to Turkey for two weeks, and I sort of need a day to relax. (4) I am currently sipping away on a glass full of peach water because (5) it makes me feel healthy, (6) it tastes pretty damn good and (7) I've just had a gorgeous orange breakfast as (8) I'm trying to be a vegan but (9) I am failing miserably. (10) I should really start packing for tomorrow but (11) it's always more fun to be stressed at 5am. We all know that.

Bethan's questions:

What colour are your eyes and what colour is your hair?
My eyes are blue for the most part, with a dark blue outline and a gradually paler blue interior, with faint yellow flakes neighbouring the pupil. I recently dyed my hair from my natural colour (which resembles a pale brown but isn't really anything) to an almost-black colour with my weird red highlights coming through when my hair's absorbing the sun's rays.

Which author would you like to collaborate on a book with?
Sue Ransom perhaps? Because not only are her books absolute masterpieces (Small Blue Thing = perfection), but she just seems like a really down-to-earth person and would be really interesting to have a conversation with.

Who is your fictional boyfriend?
Isn't it obvious? Leonard Hofstadter of course! I try not to fangirl too much because of the obvious - he's a fictional character - but aw, he would just be so cute. He's smart and funny and hey, his reality exterior (Johnny Galecki) is pretty kind on the eyes too.

Do you like floral print?
It depends. If you're wearing it as stylish lace-edged shorts then yes. If you've stuck a load of pansies to your forehead then no.

Are you going on holiday this summer? If you are, where are you going?
Mhm, you can find out more about my schedule this Summer on my 2nd August post (which I kind of can't link right now because this is a scheduled post from before I went to Swansea. Sorry).

Which social media site do you use the most?
Facebook for the IM and Instagram for, naturally, the 'selfie game'.

If you could have dinner with 10 fictional characters (films, TV shows, books, any fictional character) who would you choose?
This is a hard one!
Sheldon Cooper for the laughs.
Leonard Hofstadter for the looks.
Ted Mosby for the conversation.
Midori Yoshida to tell me how 172 Hours On The Moon ends.
Harry Potter for the, uh, magic.
Frodo (or Bilbo, y'know, either-or) for the epic stories.
Lily Aldrin for Lily Aldrin.
Lottie Biggs for the Welsh translations.
Bridget Jones for the life tips.
Aaand Edward Cullen for that added Vampireyness. Obviously.

What are your hopes and dreams?
This is such a longlisted question! But to be short - I want to study with Oxford somewhere in France or Spain for my A Levels and then... well it's pretty foggy from there, but I would then (somehow) like to become either a travel blogger, travel vlogger, travel journalist, travel photographer, macro photographer, or just something based in the travel industry like a flight attendant. And if none of those work, maybe something with the Government, like in the MI5 - even though my friend's mum works in the MI5 and apparently it isn't as badass as the movie industry makes it out to be. Sigh.

Would you rather read inside or outside?
I live in Britain, where the sun is shining precisely 0.2% of the time. So, based on that fact, I'd probably prefer to read indoors to avoid the rain, hail stones, wind and snow.

What book have you read that had a really great message? What was the message?
172 Hours On The Moon, which is basically about the fact that people will lie to you (and send you to the moon) for their own personal gain, and you're really just a pawn in people's plans and just oh god it's just such a good book YOU HAVE TO READ IT *deep breath*.

What is one of your favourite songs at the moment?
THIS:
Perfection, no?

My (slightly more than) eleven gorgeous nominees are as follows:

My eleven quickfire questions for said nominees:
Nikon or Canon?
Juice or milkshake?
National Geographic or Vogue?
Blogger or Wordpress?
John Green - yay or nay?
Okay? (see what I did there?)
Apple or Android?
Heels or sneakers?
Twitter - hot or not?
Lindsay Lohan is still fabulous, right?
Daytime or nighttime?

Have an awesome rest-of Summer break, y'all!

how to make a crayon melt poster

It may sound trivial but I've always wanted to make a crayon melt poster, and when I was clearing out my room a few days ago I came across my old art set - what d'ya know - full of crayons. I was suddenly in such a rush to make one and blog about it that I sort of completely eradicated the idea of reading some instructions first, sooo I've made this post up but hey, it worked reasonably alright all the same.

I also recently downloaded an app called Capture, where you can edit together videos for your Youtube channel. It is really really really good, and despite my crappy IPad photo quality I thought I'd make one for this tutorial thing. Unfortunately, you can't add a voice over to your Capture video, but you can get a load of royalty free music playing over the top if it so it's not all bad.

If you ignore how awful the whole piece-together of this video is, you can sort of get an idea of how I made my poster.

You will need:
- Crayons
- Card
- Glue gun (with glue)
- Hairdryer
That's it!

Step one:
Gather your assorted crayons.

Step two:
Peel your assorted crayons.

Step three:
Align your crayons around the border of the card.

Step four:
Glue the crayons piece by piece onto said card.

Step five:
Pick up your hairdryer and watch your crayon civilisation melt.

Step six:
Realise too late that the wax spits everywhere and is very hot when that happens, so hurridly place floor protection down, and move the IPad a bit further away, picking off spitlets of wax from the screen (oops).

Step seven:
And just as my Youtube Capture video states, you have your crayon melt poster!
(I didn't photograph it as a whole before I uploaded Jayze onto my Toshiba, but you can see the finished product in my video.)

Taadaa! You now have a beautiful masterpiece (sigh) to show to your friends and family!

-- I am currently in a small town in Wales, hoping this scheduled post published and is now online. If it is, comment something nice for when I get back, and I'll be sure to return the favour :) --

I'm all computerised and stuff

I'm currently residing in a small town in Wales called Swansea, precisely 218 miles away from my house just off the border of London, where I can put on a fake Welsh accent and eat oddly beautiful pasties for a week. I drive back to England on the 8th July, when I'm going on a Tourist Trip around The Big City for a day and am then flying off for two weeks residence in Turkey. I'll then come home for a day and bam, school starts. So the next few posts are all relying on the hope that Blogger is functioning well. And that I haven't, you know, screwed up along the way.

Sooo, because I won't be here for a handful of centuries, I won't be able to read or, gasp, comment on your dear blogs for a bit. But don't forget about The Blog Hermit whilst I'm away, and hosomaki forbid you stop your awesome comments, as I swear to comment back on your own blogs for every comment you've left on mine. Sound fair? Now please stay here and love me.

Do y'all want to see what I have in store for you?
